L\'Horseshoe Bend è un meandro del fiume Colorado, è situato a pochi chilometri da Page (Arizona) a circa 8 km a valle della diga di Glan Canyon e del lago Powell. L\'Horseshoe bend è profondo circa 100 metri, a forma di U ed è possibile ammirarlo dall\'alto dei ripidi pendii dopo una breve camminata su un sentiero che parte dalla U.S. Route 89. Vista la sua peculiare forma, prende il nome dal ferro di cavallo (horseshoe).Wikipedia

L'Horseshoe Bend si trova in Arizona ed e' un'ansa a forma di "ferro di cavallo", scavata dal fiume Colorado. Il punto panoramico ha un'altezza vertiginosa (con pareti a strapiombo di alcune centinaia di metri) ed e' totalmente sprovvisto di protezioni ! L'unico modo per fotografare in modo completo il sito e' ......sporgersi !

Curve - Shooting the Horseshoe Bend, in Arizona, is always thrilling and scary because you're there, on the edge of the chasm, without any protection, and looking through the lens distorts greatly the perception of your position, worst if you do it through a fisheye lens. To have an idea it is enough to check the small canoas on the bank of the river. But, I think, it definitely worths the risk, this is what happens when shooting the iconic place with a fisheye: an incredible number of bends.

As the sun was gaining its way below the clouds an eruption of colors tinted the sky and the rocks of this great gift of Nature. The challenge of exposing correctly for the sky and the rocks were taken over by blending two different shots.

Uno dei luoghi simbolo degli States, ripreso all\'ultima luce del tramonto. Sono arrivato giusto in tempo per affacciarmi sullo strapiombo, montare il cavalletto, i filtri, comporre e scattare prima che il sole scomparisse all\'orizzonte. La meraviglia offerta dalla location mi ha regalato un ricordo indimenticabile.
